Monday Made It!

It's been a whole week since I've blogged - yikes!  Stop by tomorrow to see what I've been up to.  In the meantime, we are going to celebrate another Monday Made-It with Tara!

My Monday Made-It isn't all that fancy this week.  I was going to head to the craft store, but the real-feel temperature outside is 100 degrees right now.  I decided to stay put in my nice, cool air conditioning.  I created some labels for the bins that I blogged about last week {see them here}. 

I think they came out really cute!  But...I'm not going to use them.  Those things were a royal pain to cut out!  I may lean more towards a circle or square shaped label, with a little less of a scalloped border. I'll share once I come up with those!

Last year I used bins to organize my weekly plans {see them here}, but they didn't work out so well.  I found that the papers always tipped over and curled up.  Drove.Me.Crazy.  This year, I'm thinking of using plastic drawers, like these:

I already own some (okay, a lot) of sets of these drawers but they are at school.  I created some labels, but I have no idea if they are going to fit!  Hopefully I can get into my classroom at the end of the week and measure my drawers.  I do like the way they came out though!  And they match my green-pink-blue theme!

Monday Made-It

It's the second Monday of vacation for me and it is my second Monday Made-It.  I'm on a roll!  I'm linking up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics to share what I made this week!

I found this idea for homemade coasters on a fellow teacher's blog and I knew I just had to try it out!  I saw it on The Polished Teacher's Monday Made-It a few weeks ago.  Go check out her cute coasters and super cute blog!

Here are the materials that I started with.  Tiles from Lowe's (super cheap), washi tape, mod podge, felt and a cute quote.

I started by covering the tile in the washi tape.  This is my first time using washi tape (I know-gasp!) so it's not great.  I'm going to keep trying!

Then I mod podged my quote on.  This quote is from Technology Rocks, Seriously.  She has some super cute quotes, so be sure to check her out!  I mod-podged over the whole thing as well.

Then I glued a piece of felt on the back of the tile to keep it from scratching the table (apparently I can't cut straight!).

And ta-dah!  Finished product!

If you noticed, I had two tiles.  That was in case I messed up!  Since this project was super easy, I didn't mess it up at all.  I am on the hunt for black chevron tape to make a coaster to match my {almost-finished} home office.  This one will go on my desk at school since it matches my classroom colors this year.

Monday Made-It!

I'm pretty sure I haven't done a Monday Made-It since, ohh, August?  For some reason, I just have more time in the summer and I can't quite figure out why... haha!  I just don't have the patience to create things during the year.  I'm not really a creative person, so it takes A LOT for me to make something on my own.  But, thanks to Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics, I'm getting better!

My Monday Made-It this week is for all you bloggers out there!  I am a planner, an organizer, a list-maker.  I am obsessed with calendars.  I like to have things written down.  So I created my very own blog planner!  I was inspired by The Eager Teacher to create this.  Not all of her pages worked quite right for me, so I tweaked it to fit my needs.  And, honestly, it's still not all the way right for me.  But eventually I will get it right!

Here is the cover (which is just so darn pretty to look at!):

I have the monthly calendar first:

I use my fun flair pens to make everything prettier!

Next, I have a weekly calendar:

There are boxes for each day of the week.

As well as sections for to-dos, projects and collaborations (linky parties, giveaways, etc).

The third section is for blogging ideas.

I use it to write down topics I want to blog about.  The checkboxes on the side are my favorite!

The last section is where I take notes about products that I want to create.  It's hard to keep them all in my head!

Once I finished the planner, I had it bound at Staples!

I'm not going to lie, I'm kinda obsessed with my planner.  I may be making more in the future!  I do know that some bloggers find a planner to be cumbersome and just extra work, which is completely understandable.  I don't use my planner all the time, but I do really like having it.  It definitely helps me feel more organized.

Monday Made-It!

I had a dilemma this year.  I started using the back wall of my classroom for our schedule and our Morning Message/notes board. My back wall, however, is a folding wall, so the white board does not have a ledge.  Where to put my markers and schedule cards?  

I used to have a plastic magnetic box, but I left a white board eraser in it over the summer and the eraser melted to the plastic - eww.  That idea was out the window.  Then I found this at Target on clearance: 

And, while I believe in peace, I'm not lovin the pastel peace signs for my classroom.  Time to paint!

Ok, so the orange (after 2 coats) didn't work out so well.  I decided to go with a dark blue and then cover it in polka dots to match my classroom!

So excited to hang them up in my classroom today!

Lookie What I Made!

It's Monday Made-It again!  I am really starting to look forward to showing you all the things I made for my classroom!  Thank you again, 4th Grade Frolics for hosting this!

About to get started on my latest project...

I used {50 cent} frames from Micheals, paint, paint brush and signs from Technology Rocks, Seriously.

Then I started painting.  I had to borrow newspaper from my grandmother since I don't get it!

I made two signs and I loved them!  One is going to go over by the sink in my classroom and the other will go on my windowsill.

And...well...I liked how they turned out so much, that I made some more!

The new ones will go on my windowsill as well.

Monday Made-It!

I did it again!  I Monday Made-It!

Project #1:

I found these counting blocks at The Dollar Store yesterday:

Psshh...I'm not going to use them for counting!  They are going to be one of my Word Work stations.  I put letters on each of them.

(Yes, that's all I did because I want to go to the beach)

I'm pretty sure I got this idea from another blogger...but I can't remember who!  Please let me know if you did this, so I can give you credit!

More clipboards!  Got these at The Dollar Store too.

This time, I wrapped them in a different duct tape:

Whoops!  Ran out of duct tape!  

Each roll covers 2 clipboards, it seems.
