Oh wait...no I'm not. I'm supposed to be on our week-long winter break but our district cancelled it this year. We lost 3 days due to Hurricane Irene in September so they took it out of our February vacation instead of tacking it onto the end of the year. It made sense in September, since last year we had 5 snow days. This year? We've had NONE. I could sooo use the break and so could my kids. They're driving each other craaazzyy and everyone is sick. We get Monday and Friday off instead. It's nice that we have two long weekends in a row, but what do I do with a 3 - day week??
Here are some examples of why we need a break:
"Help! I'm trapped in my chair!"
(yep, yep he was)
"There's a pool in my backpack!"
(her entire water bottle spilled, right at dismissal)
"Don't walk, run to the nurse!"
(blood was pouring out of his nose)
"Did you spill water on yourself?"
(Nope. It was his second accident in less than an hour)
It's been one of those weeks!

A lot of laughing, thank goodness! I kept telling myself, "this is what I signed up for" !
DeleteUgh, that stinks!! I am lucky enough to say I didn't have any hurricane days here in NJ and I still have my week off... ;)

I am so sorry you didn't get the whole vacation. Do you get any of your snow days back? We have some nasty stuff going around too. I just want to open up all the windows and air it out. YUCK!
ReplyDeleteWell, two days is better than none, I guess : )

I feel your pain we had days added too throughout the year instead of the end. The lack of snow days is making it rough. At least we can laugh right?
